The READY+ Project is dedicated to improving the well-being of communities in Eswatini through integrated health and development initiatives. We focus on sustainable solutions that empower individuals and families to thrive. Through partnerships and community engagement, we strive to create lasting positive change.

Community Dialogues

Under the READY project, NCM-E facilitates community dialogues that bring together young people, parents, church leaders and service providers to openly discuss issues affecting adolescents and youth. These safe, structured conversations tackle topics such as HIV, mental health, relationships, stigma and violence, while promoting understanding, compassion and shared responsibility. Through these dialogues, communities are encouraged to listen to young people’s realities, strengthen support systems and take collective action to create safer, healthier environments for all.

Youth Trainings

Under the READY+ project, youth trainings like WANDA and Junior Achievement (JA) equip adolescents and young people with practical life, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. Through interactive sessions, they learn how to budget, save, start and manage small businesses, and make informed money decisions that support their long-term goals. These trainings also build confidence, leadership and problem-solving abilities, empowering young people to see themselves not just as beneficiaries, but as active change-makers and future employers in their communities.

Caregivers Training

Under the READY+ project, we provide tailored training for parents and caregivers to better support adolescents and young people in their care. The trainings build knowledge on HIV, mental health, treatment adherence and sexual and reproductive health, while also strengthening communication, listening and problem-solving skills at home. Caregivers are equipped with practical tools to respond to challenges with empathy, reduce stigma, and create safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive.

Wellness and Health

The READY+ project promotes holistic wellness by supporting the physical, mental, and emotional health of adolescents and young people living with or affected by HIV. Through youth-friendly services, peer support, and safe spaces, READY+ helps them access HIV treatment, sexual and reproductive health information, and psychosocial support without fear or stigma. Our approach recognises that wellness is more than being free from illness, it is about confidence, resilience, hope, and the ability to make informed choices for a healthy, empowered future.

Youth Empowerment

Under the READY+ project, youth empowerment means giving adolescents and young people the skills, confidence and platforms to lead. Through peer support groups, leadership trainings, mentorship and meaningful involvement in programme activities, young people are encouraged to speak for themselves, influence decisions and shape services that affect their lives. READY+ recognises youth as partners and leaders, not just beneficiaries, and supports them to become informed, resilient and empowered agents of change in their communities.

Donor Site Visit

As part of the READY project, donors periodically visit implementation sites to see first-hand how programmes are transforming the lives of adolescents and young people. During these visits, they meet with Peer Supporters, service providers, caregivers and youth beneficiaries, hearing personal stories of impact, resilience and change. Site visits also provide an opportunity to showcase innovations such as youth-friendly services, community dialogues and skills-building trainings, while strengthening accountability, learning and partnership between NCM-E, implementing partners and the donors who make this work possible.
